HOW DID COVID IMPACT YOU?
Over the past several months, have you felt any of the following symptoms?
COVID has had lasting impacts on families around the world from sick loved ones, to mass job loss, to navigating virtual learning, and so much more.
While we recognize that everyone has been impacted, our hearts break for single moms that battle these “symptoms” each and every day.
COVID certainly provided challenges, but it also provided a unique opportunity for The Life of a Single Mom team to get involved and change more lives. We don’t just impact single moms. We impact their children!

Now, more than ever, it is time for us to stand together – to lend a helping hand, to bridge the gap for a single mom in need.

Just like that special single mom in your life, Alix needed some help. At a difficult juncture, she needed community. She needed women to surround her, offering loving wisdom and encouragement. Because of supporters like you, Alix found a place to not only survive, but thrive. She shares her testimony below…
“This ministry has played such a strong role in my journey! I give in support of the other moms that are battling what I went through.”
“On May 11, 2011, my son, Gauge, was placed in my arms. His dad and I beamed at each other with excitement. The nurses were never the wiser that we hadn’t spoken to each other in almost four months prior to that day. In a last ditch effort, we ended up moving far away from our home town, closer to his family.
Two days before Valentine’s Day of the following year, Gauge’s dad bought a one-way plane ticket back home and never looked back. I was, now, a single mother all alone in a town where the only family I knew were that of my child’s father. So there I was: sitting on my bed one night, holding back the tears so that Gauge would never know the pain I was going through. Fortunately, I was determined not to become another statistic.
I reached out to a family friend and asked about local churches. The church is what led me to finding The Life of a Single Mom and the immense impact it had on my success as an independent parent.
I will never forget the comfort I found being amongst women in my shoes at our support groups. I received counseling and learned how to budget effectively. I have learned skills that I pour into my son as he continues to grow. I felt God pulling at my heart to just trust Him. Over the last eight years, my walk through single motherhood has faced many challenges, but I know it’s just adding to my testimony.
Today, I continue to give to TLSM to help other single moms find the community I desparately needed.”

And we are not done yet! 2021 marks a very special year for The Life of a Single Mom. We embark upon a year-long 10 year Anniversary Celebration! As we look at all that has been accomplished over the last nine years, we stand amazed that only God could have done it. But we know there is much to do. Your end-of-the-year gift will help us close out 2020 strong. Our goals heading into 2021 include launching 100 new single mom support groups, launching 44 new Single Mom University classes, hosting 10 educational clergy breakfasts, hosting a national conference with 2,000 single mothers, and hosting 2 new bootcamps. We have been swift to act during COVID, providing services virtually at an increased rate of 44%. We need your help. It is our deepest desire to see no single mom (and her children) walk alone.
