On November 3, 2016, due to a generous donation from Taylor Swift, The Life of a Single Mom (TLSM) gave away brand new side-by-side refrigerators to 10 single moms impacted by the Great Louisiana Flood of 2016. Through an open application process, single mothers were invited to apply for the gift. Upon selection, each mom was notified and scheduled for a day-long celebration. The celebration commenced with a complimentary makeup and styling session at Vanguard College of Cosmetology. The mothers were then escorted to TLSM headquarters were they were served a meal prepared by Chef Don Bergeron. Mothers were given new purses filled with toiletries, make-up, and other items donated by Quota International of Baton Rouge. They were also awarded a gift card to purchase groceries, a new Crock Pot slow cooker, and a cookbook.
