TLSM takes the field with Tampa Bay Buccaneers Gerald McCoy
Gerald McCoy of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is choosing to use his cleats to raise awareness of the strength of single moms across the country through the My Cause, My Cleats campaign. Gerald chose to showcase The Life of a Single Mom as his charitable cause. The My Cause, My Cleats campaign is a culmination of 18 months of collaboration between the NFL and players across the league that includes wearing custom-designed cleats to showcase the charity, online communication, and more. More than 500 NFL players are participating in the initiative. McCoy says, “Single parent homes are dear to me, because I grew up seeing it my entire life. I know how hard it is to raise a family on your own and I want to give back to those families as much as I can.”
In addition to wearing the cleats during the Week 13 NFL game and sharing social media posts, Gerald will raise funds for The Life of a Single Mom at the NFL Auction (http://www.nflauction.nfl.com/) where 100% of funds raised will ensure that #nosinglemomwalksalone.
“We are extremely grateful for Gerald using his platform to honor single moms and support the work of The Life of a Single Mom,” said TLSM Founder and CEO, Jennifer Maggio. “Gerald is a kind-hearted individual with an incredible story of hope. His generosity will truly impact change in the lives of single mothers in Tampa Bay and around the nation.”
