2017 National Single Moms’ Conference Changed Things!

Attendees who were part of the 2017 National TLSM Single Mom’s Conference this past weekend sent hundreds of follow up emails, text messages, and social media posts about the awe-inspiring weekend. Words can not fully describe what happened at conference this year and how our hearts are changed forever, but some of the common phrases we’ve heard are:

“Life changing!”

“Right on time!”

“Amazing!”

“Saved my life!”

“Powerful and anointed!”

One of the precious attendees wrote this:

Over the last few weeks, my life has started to crumble. I had no ride, no babysitter, and every excuse not to come. But I knew this was for me and so I decided to go and I am so so so happy I did. I know your mission is to inspire women and that no single mom walks alone, but you did so much more to me. This conference saved my life. Literally. – a 19 year old single mom with a 6 month old baby

We stand in humility and reverence of how God used The Life of a Single Mom Ministries to minister to the hearts of single moms all over the country. Hundreds of single moms, single mom supporters, and ministry leaders gathered in Baton Rouge, LA for the 3rd Annual National TLSM Single Moms Conference on September 22-23. This two-day conference equipped single moms to parent well, manage their finances and care for their health & wellness, while trusting God with every circumstance of their lives. Jennifer Maggio, TLSM Founder and CEO, and Crystal Tullos brought incredible messages that encouraged and empowered the crowd, while comedian, Kev of Stage, stirred up joy and laughter throughout the conference. Dr. Robbie Furdge prayed an opening prayer that brought Heaven down on earth! Dena Rizzo put together and opening number to Toby Mac’s It Ain’t Over Yet that left women on their feet and ready to worship.

111 churches from around the United States sent ministry leaders to learn how to plant, grow, or improve their single mom’s ministries at their church. Thousands of dollars in door prizes were given away. The after-party offered great food, including Louisiana’s special cuisine, boudin balls! New friendships were forged.

Along the concourse of the venue were national resource booths that provided information to moms on a variety of topics including healthy meals, college enrollment, substance abuse recovery, legal help, business opportunities,  and more. We even had a craft table for children, clowns making balloon animals, and Vanguard Cosmetology School polishing nails. Here are a few of the preliminary pictures from the two days.

We are so grateful to Healing Place Church and Pastors Mike and Rachel Haman for opening their doors to host this national conference each year since 2015. It has been a place where single moms from all over the country have encountered the love of God. Thanks to more than 100 amazing volunteers who helped make sure that #nosinglemomwalksalone.

We look forward to what God has in store for next year! See you in Houston in 2018! (More details coming soon)!

The Life of a Single Mom is a global nonprofit that exists to see that no single mom walks alone. We have worked with more than 1,500 churches and community organizations to establish or improve a single mom’s support group in their respective community.
